Meet Gretchen

Gretchen Huesmann began her speaking ministry as a young mom involved in mom’s groups and leading Bible studies, in between teaching littles in the classroom and raising her family. She continues to share messages of hope, education, and encouragement to a wide variety of audiences with original content and creative presentations. Look for topics here or Gretchen is happy to help you develop your event’s theme and content.

Gretchen is a long-time blogger and an award-winning author penning articles, devotions, and children’s stories. She is a member of Word Weavers International (incoming president of the Pensacola chapter), SCBWI, and 12X12 Picture Book Challenge.

When not teaching or writing, Gretchen enjoys reading, walking, gardening, cooking, and exploring the outdoors. She and her husband have raised four amazing adult children who share their love of music, nature, and travel.

As you read my thoughts, let me also tell you a bit about myself:

  • I live in Pensacola, Florida with my husband of 33 years!
  • We have raised 4 terrific, independent, why-do-they-have-to-live-so-far-away, kids!
  • My passions include teaching women about the Bible, teaching ALL about prayer, speaking for women’s events and teachers’ events, and instructing the littlest learners about life, love, and Jesus as a teacher, tutor, and substitute teacher.
  • I write non-fiction and fiction for children, and non-fiction for adults.

Random things I love:

  • Pizza, especially Chicago pizza
  • Veggies and fruit—so I don’t feel so guilty when I want pizza.
  • The beach AND the mountains. Does such a place exist? Maybe in heaven.
  • My fur babies. Currently residing with me are Radar and Smaug. They are frenemies.
  • My real babies, e-hem, adult children.
  • My best-friend and amazing husband who supports my crazy life.
  • My best-best friend, Jesus, who rescued this lost sheep and brought me back to the fold, scratches,
    scars, and all.

Regardless what brought you here, I’m glad you stopped by!

How cool to read about you, my friend.
I would say that our friendship was healing and lifesaving for both of us through the years. We experienced fun, stressful, and HARD times and supported each other through it.
